Huzzah! The Madrigal choir at OHS put on their annual Madrigal Dinner Theater Dec. 11 and 12.

The medieval themed nights were a success according to choir director Chelsea Ayres. She says that it went smoothly and with little hiccups.

This year, the Madrigal singers did a play featuring prince Jack from Jack and the Beantstalk, a villain called Knight Crawler, Ashes-Zelda who is Cinderella’s less famous cousin, and a unicorn. Jack was played by Noah Antle (12), Knight Crawler was played by Nathan Haskenhoff (12), the unicorn by Alec Lininger (10), and Ashes-Zelda by Nathan Schlechte (12).

The tale was about how Jack and Ashes-Zelda were going to the “Crystal Gala” when suddenly Knight Crawler came to steal away Ashes-Zelda and Jack’s unicorn. The performance was full of corny jokes and dramatic scenes.

After the skit portion of the dinner theater, the choir sang traditional Christmas carols such as Joy to the World and Silent Night.

“I really enjoyed having a big part with some of my close friends in my last show,” says Antle.
