Tigers end tough week with loss

Zach Jost prepares for a shot against Seckman on Nov. 12.

On Dec. 3, the OHS hockey team continued one of its more difficult weeks of the season losing to SLUH 4-2.

OHS came out aggressive, but with two questionable calls from the ref’s, SLUH was able to take a 2-0 led. By the mid-way point of the second period SLUH had took a 3-0 led. Steve Farina (11) continued his hot streak scoring a goal, to make the score 3-1.

In the end both teams were able to add a goal in a chippy end of the game for both teams. Farina was ejected after getting into a scuffle with SLUH’s goalie and another Jr. Billiken player.

“We worked hard but we didn’t play to our expectations,” goalie Zach Jost (12) said.

With CBC, Lindbergh, and SLUH all on the schedule in one week it was a tough stretch and the Tigers went 0-2-1 in the three games. Losing 4-2 to CBC, and tying Lindbergh 2-2 in a game OHS led till the last second of the game.

The Tigers look to shake off the difficult week and start fresh against Marquette this Saturday. The game starts at 9:15 at Kennedy Ice Rink.
