Wrestling comes up short in Quad Meet

The OHS wrestling team had a Quad Meet with duals against against Fox, Marquette, and Mehlville High School on Jan. 9 at Fox.

The Tigers went 1-2. They beat Fox 42-24, Lost to Marquette (36-35), and Mehlville (41-34). OHS wrestled fairly well despite the fact that they lost two duals. Bryce Davis (11), Connor Hardesty (10), Tommy Suda (10), and Tyrone Willis (12) went 2-0. Austin Neal (9) won his only match by pinning his Mustang opponent, and Dan Zehnle (12) went 3-0 with a minor decision, a major decision, and a pin.

“I feel good,” Suda said. “My matches were tough, but I worked through it. The team is looking good this year even though we lost two last night.”

The Tigers wrestle on Saturday, Jan. 12 at OHS in the Gateway Duals Tournament.  They also wrestle Tuesday, Jan. 15 against Eureka and St. Louis University High School and Wednesday, Jan. 16 against Northwest. Both meets are at OHS.
