Baseball suffers opening loss

The OHS baseball team put up quite the run against Vianney on Fri., March 15. Vianney immediately put their best pitcher to work, Kyle McGuire (12), so the OHS baseball team knew it was going to be a hard game. They could not get him out of the game until the third inning.

Vianney scored first. Andy Oliver (11) made a throw from the outfield attempting to get the runner out at home, but he was just a second too late leaving the score at 0-1.

By the middle of the game, OHS was only down by one run, 3-4. Vianney then continued to score four more runs, but the team never gave up. They kept hitting, but could only score one more run, making the score 4-7 in the end. They battled and never gave up.

“I was very happy how the team carried themselves by not hanging their heads and battling, by not just giving up right away.” John Udina (12), outfielder said. “I believe when we see Vianney in districts we will beat them.”
