Family, Career and Community Leaders of America, (FCCLA) is one of the many OHS clubs that works hard to promote student involvement with organizations around the Oakville community.
On May 12, FCCLA is holding an end of the year picnic in Bee Tree Park. Members of FCCLA are invited and encouraged to bring at least one friend to the event along with a side dish to share. The idea is to bring new faces around, introduce them to the other members and rejoice in the FCCLA atmosphere.
“We will be grilling hot dogs, we will provide a cake and all the members will bring a side,” Foods teacher and FCCLA sponsor Betsy O’Toole said.
Having a positive and compassionate group of members helps to make the volunteering process go smoothly. This year’s FCCLA students got along well without problems, which made the whole experience for new and old members worth while.
“We always have a lot of fun. The bonds we have formed we made while serving the community,” Brittany Putz (12) said.
