It has been three years since the last Iron Man installment, but we last saw Iron Man in The Avengers. Iron Man 3 takes place sometime after the events that occurred in The Avengers, and Tony Stark is feeling the effects. Stark can’t sleep at night, and decides to put most of his time into improving his Iron Man suits. Meanwhile, his other half Pepper Potts is hard at work running Stark Industries. A man who calls himself The Mandarin has been terrorizing the world through TV messages and random attacks. No one knows where to find The Mandarin to stop the madness. Stark is The Mandarin’s next target, and things just go downhill from there.
The film has a more sophisticated story to it, and that is what makes the film great. We learn more about Stark’s past, and how some of his past work has helped him in the present. In this installment, we see how Stark reacts to the worst-case-scenario.
The film stars Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce, Rebecca Hall, and Sir Ben Kingsley. The film has earned the title of Marvel’s second-highest grossing production behind The Avengers. The film grossed $175.3 million in its opening weekend, and $680 million worldwide.
