It’s that time again! Cold weather is coming back for the season and as it approaches, it’s important to find things to do instead of being cooped up at home all the time. There are always so many fun things to do during this time of year, whether that’s with friends, family or significant others. The season is a busy time for everyone, but it is important to make time for doing the festive things we love. 

Racing with your friends at the skating rink is always a favorite to do around this time. Two great places to go to do this are Kennedy Recreation Center and Steinberg Skating Rink downtown. Kennedy’s rink is a small indoor place used for hockey practices and games. In fact, the Oakville hockey team uses the Kennedy rink for games. However, Steinberg is a much bigger ice skating place that is outdoors and my preference because I feel that people can get the full experience there. They also serve hot chocolate refreshments to keep you warm and add to the fun. 

Shopping for warm clothes brings so much joy during winter as well. Some fun places to go for cheap but cute, comfy and warm outfits are places like Target, Walmart, Kohl’s, Old Navy, T.J. Max and Marshall’s. My personal favorite to get cute warm clothes to hibernate in for the winter is Target.

While these all sound absolutely amazing, every once in a while it is nice to stay in and get cozy on a cold night, but that doesn’t mean you can’t still have fun. You could have friends and family over and bake cookies, watch movies and snuggle up with blankets and hot chocolate, or listen to music and play games. 

So even though it may be cold outside, there are still many fun things to do this winter for you and your family.
