Throughout the year, two Tiger Fever students will be going to freshman ANPs once a week to help them get acclimated to their new school.
“This year we have enough seniors to assign two seniors to a room,” senior Tiger Fever supervisor, Amy Learn, said.
According to Learn, the goal of Tiger Fever is to smooth eighth graders’ transition into high school. She hopes that the upperclassmen make them feel welcome so they will be more likely to engage themselves in school activities.
“It will really help with classes and grades,” George Schaefer (9) said.
Teachers like the idea because the seniors can offer information and advice that they are not aware of, such as help with navigating the lunch lines. Their hopes are that the freshman feel comfortable in their new environment.
