Spanish students will be leaving for a trip to Spain on March 11.
The 21 students will be spending their first two days in Barcelona sight-seeing with their two teachers, Carol Robinson and Jeanne Weber. While staying at the Hotel Tryp Apolo, they hope to visit the Aquarium, The Sagrada Familia Cathedral, Park Guell and walking down the festive strip Las Ramblas, which leads to the port by the Mediterranean Sea.
“I am really looking forward to seeing how people live differently,” Morgan Wahl (12) said. “Also, my friend Corey Meyer (12) and I have been planning on going on this trip since we heard about it in Spanish II.”
After the students visit Las Ramblas on March 14 they will be picked up by their Spanish host families and stay with them until March 20. They are matched up with families, who share similar interests and have kids close in age.
“I hosted someone last year and I think it will be cool to be on the other side,” Emily Maag (11) said.
After the week is up and students say goodbye to their host families they will be meeting at the Hard Rock Cafe with their teachers for dinner.
“This is a tradition we do every trip; it gives everyone a chance to talk about their experience while enjoying a nice dinner,” Robinson said.
