DECA prepares for upcoming competitions
DECA members are preparing to show off their marketing skills at their competition in the South County Mall on Feb. 10.
15 students will attend the event, ready to take a 100 question multiple choice test about what to do in marketing situations. Later, the members are given a specific marketing scenario. The students then present their solutions to real-life business professionals.
“This competition gives the students a chance to make real-life business decisions.” said DECA leader Mrs. Jana Shuey
The members are excited to compete against hundreds of other schools in the event.
“We’ve been working towards this for a long time,” said DECA member Maddie Stinnet (12). “It’ll be nice to finally compete.”
After this event, the DECA team will participate in the state competition at the
Lake of the Ozarks over spring break.
