Students perform at last year’s talent show.

The talent show is back in action this year and is scheduled to be held on Oct. 29. Each year, many OHS students audition for the yearly talent show. These students have a wide range of talents, from dancing to singing. Some of these students are then able to be accepted into the talent show and have the chance to perform in front of the Oakville community.

Choir teacher and talent show holder, Chelsea Ayres, said, “The talent show is an opportunity for students to showcase their individual skills outside of the classroom and in more of a contemporary style than what we do in class.”

About 20 students participate in the competition and are then judged at the end of the show, and the lucky winner receives a cash prize of $100. The talent show benefits not only the winner but also the choir program. The talent show is held as a fundraiser for the program to help choir students travel on competition trips as well as help purchase any necessary items needed in the classroom. Last year’s winner was singer Emma Reinagel.

“The talent show will be Nov. 14 at 7 pm in the Nottelmann Auditorium. Come and see how Oakville’s Got Talent!” said Ayres.
