OHS throws Celebration Day for students
On Nov. 24, Positive- Behavioral Interventions and Support (PBIS) and Character Ed are hosting a celebration day for students during ANP. Due to last year’s positive reception by teachers and students, they decided to host it again this year.
‘We thought there should be a reward for students who do what they are supposed to be doing,” Mrs. Gross said.
This year there is going to be some criteria in order to participate. Students cannot have any OSS and students must have five or fewer discipline referrals.
“About 90 percent of our students will be able to participate in this year’s celebration day,” Mrs. Gross said.
There will be board games and video games set up in the library, dodgeball in Gym B, and basketball in Gym A. Students are allowed to stay in their ANP and watch a movie and bring in food if they wish.
Through celebration day, the staff gets the chance to thank students for doing the right thing.
