Homecoming away from home
From pyramids in Egypt, to the Eiffel Tower, then back home to the U.S., Oakville’s homecoming theme, “All Around The World,” will be more than just a spot on the map.
Decorated to represent all different countries, floats will go out on their parade route on Oct. 7 at 4 pm.
“We wanted to make this year’s homecoming stand out due to past years, while also relating it to our overall theme for this year which is, ‘Think Differently,’ ” Student Body President Shayla Hrncic (12) explained.
The floats in the homecoming parade are being led by numerous activities such as Cross Country representing the runners of Kenya and the Golden Girls leading the trip, “All Around The World,” as flight attendants.
Hrncic added that this year’s theme is, “something that everyone would enjoy due to the decorations and then the ideas for the floats.”
After the parade and football game, the homecoming dance will take place the following night, Oct. 8 at 7 pm.
