Presidential food drive
The OHS Student Council is hosting another can food drive. The competition to collect the cans between the ANPs (Academic Network Period) has begun. The donations from this drive will be donated to Feed My People- South County.
“I absolutely love the food drive; I think it is a wonderful opportunity to be able to give back to the community,” Student Body President Shayla Hrncic (12) said.
The theme of this year’s annual food drive is “Presidential”. Each class has a different candidate representing them in the competition. The seniors’ representative is Ken Bone, juniors’ is Hillary Clinton, the sophomores’ is Donald Trump and the freshmen have Kanye West.
“I think it’s a fun way to bring current events into the school’s fundraisers,” Jeremy Counts (12) said.
The President of the United States is then decided based on the winning grade level. A prize and shirt will be rewarded for the top three grade levels.
On Nov. 11, the first pick up occurred. The results that followed were that the the freshman class took first represented by Kanye West.
The next and final pick up will happen on Nov. 21.
