Six choir students named all-state
OHS choir has done it again. Six OHS students have been named to the Missouri All-State choir and will perform at the Missouri Music Educators Association Conference in January.
Every year, high school choir students from across the St. Louis area audition to be a part of the Missouri All-Suburban choir. The top 20 students from each voice part — tenor, bass, soprano, and alto — are then given the opportunity to audition for the Missouri All-State Choir. Only four from each voice part make the final cut, making a total of 16 members from the St. Louis area. This year, OHS has six.
The OHS all-state students are Audrey Chopin (12), Louis Luong (12), Emma Reinagel (12), Madison Sheppard (12), Kristin Steinbrueck (12) and Eric Throm (11). These students will perform with other students from across Missouri in January at the former Tan-Tar-A Resort at Osage Beach, MO (now known as Margaritaville), under choral director Dr. Amanda Quist.
“Last year was such an amazing experience,” said 2016-2017 All-State choir member Emma Reinagel (12). “I’m just so happy to be able to experience it again.”
Eric Throm (11) added, “I’ve been hoping that I was gonna make it for like, over a year, like since freshman year.”
Congratulations to the six students who made all-state.
