French club hosts gingerbread competition
Joyeuses fêtes!
OHS French Club ran the annual gingerbread competition for all students which took place on Dec.7 after school in the cafeteria.
There was a total 14 students in the five teams who competed that ranged from two to four students per group. Teams of students paid $10 to French Club sponsor Mrs. Keri Wilson to join the contest.
“It was tedious and at the same time it was fun.” said Damon Deemie (11) who created a gingerbread house during the event.
The gingerbread building kits were provided by Wilson to all of the teams who signed up. Multiple gingerbread houses fell apart due to the lack of time for the icing to dry, but most were placed back together for the voting.
Wilson sent out pictures to OHS teachers of the teams’ houses for them to be voted on. The winners were Katie Furer (12), Alex Sullivan (12), Mary Ruzicka (12), and Nathan Long (12) from Spanish club.
