Tommy Purschke (12) and Grace Bellovicb (12) are crowned Prom King and Queen.

OHS held its prom on May 11, and students who attended can agree it was a successful and memorable night.

Students took a trip to “Hollywood” at the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel in Chesterfield for the night. Dinner was held at 7 p.m., and once finished, guests walked down the red carpet to the dance floor set up in a tent.

“It was a surprisingly good dinner,” said Chris Givens (11). “It was actually really worth it.”

Students filled the dance floor, dancing and singing to new and classic songs. With the Stanley Cup Conference Finals taking place that night,  a TV was set up with the Blue’s game so students could watch.

“Prom was one of the best nights,” said Lily Wozniak (12). “Everyone knew and loved the songs towards the end of the night.”

At 8:15 p.m., coronation took place. The prom court boys included Jake AuBuchon, Quinn Toenies, Tommy Purschke, Christian Boll, and Andrew Phillips. Purschke was named Prom King.

“The feeling was sensational,” said Purschke. “I couldn’t believe what I was hearing when everyone was cheering and I was being crowned.”

Seniors girls on court consisted of Morgan Murphy, Grace Bellovich, Karli Wainz, Jaelyn Compton, and Grace Porterfield. Bellovich was crowned Prom Queen.

“I was so so surprised when they called my name! I remember kind of stopping for a second and thinking, ‘Oh that’s me I need to go up there!” said Bellovich. “The whole thing was just a really awesome experience and it’s something I’ll remember for a long time.”
