Football finished the season 5-6, losing their first state playoff game to St. Louis U. High (SLUH) last Friday. Even though OHS lost the game, wide receiver and defensive back Jaron Henderson (12) found his way into the end zone, something he has been able to do all season.
Against SLUH, Henderson had two catches, one of them a 48-yard touchdown reception from quarterback Andy Oliver (10). Henderson finished the season with nine touchdowns, three interceptions and 921 yards receiving, leading the team in all three categories.
“ He was probably the most valuable guy we had out there,” head coach Arlee Conners said. “Offensively he allowed us to do a lot of things and teams were forced to double cover him which opened the door for other guys.”
OHS finished the season reaching the state playoffs for the fourth time in seven years.
