OHS Basketball adds Hall of Fame experience
Recently, Missouri Hall of Fame basketball coach Ken Libby has been added to the basketball coach staff here at OHS.
Libby coached the Lindbergh Flyers basketball team for the last 13 years and he also coached at STLCC (St. Louis Community College) for nine years. Libby has also coached at Mehlville but he left cin ‘86. Libby has been leading high school and college basketball teams to district tournaments for several years. Two of the college and high school teams he coached have been in the state finals.
Libby got his start in coaching basketball his first year of college at Moberly Junior College. There, his coach Cotton Fitzsimmons who also coached in the NBA has been a big inspiration to him.
In the spring of 2013, Libby was placed in the Missouri Basketball Coaches Hall of Fame. “Its a great honor because all of my coaches that coached me are also in the Missouri Hall of Fame” Libby said. .
With a great coaching staff and especially a coach like Mr. Ken Libby, the Oakville varsity basketball team will be on their way to victory this upcoming basketball season.
