JV girls basketball wins game for sibling rivalry
The OHS girls JV basketball team took on Lindbergh in a game that pitted a family against each other. Former players of OHS freshman coach Maggie Zehner used the sibling rivalry between Zehner and her sister, Lindbergh’s JV coach, as motivation for their win on Jan. 19.
“Throughout the whole game we kept saying ‘win for Zehner’,” said Chloe Dedic (10).
According to their coach, because most of the JV girls played with Zehner their freshman year, it kept them focused on the game and helped them come out on top with a score of 42-22.
“We played really well together and started and finished strong,” said player Briana Hagan (11).
The team’s overall record is 11-1, and they hope to keep up their winning season.
