Girls swim competes at Suburban West Conference
OHS girls swim team made a splash during their final meet at the competitive Suburban West Conference Feb. 11 and Feb. 12.
One swimmer, Allison Streb (9), qualified for state in 100 Backstroke with a time of 102.53 seconds.
“I was really happy when I got the state cut because I have been working towards it all season,” Streb said.
In addition to Streb’s individual success, her relay team, which also includes Mykenzee Munaco, Ally Landmann, and Casey Landmann, placed 4th in 400 Free Relay. The team of Kaylin Bradford, Bailey Brown, Ally Landmann, and Munaco placed 5th in 200 Free Relay. Streb, Brown, Bradford, and Ally Landmann placed 6th in Medley Relay.
“Although the Suburban West Conference is in a very competitive arena, the Oakville Lady Tigers Swim had a good showing!” assistant coach Ms. Caryn Miller said.
OHS also excelled in several other categories. Streb placed 8th in 100 Free. Munaco placed 7th in 100 Fly and 13th in 200 Individual Medley. Ally Landman placed 12th in 200 Free, Lauren Bailey placed 15th in 500 Free, Brown placed 16 in 100 Breaststroke, and Lindsey Eplin placed 14th in Dive.
