Choir celebrates Valentine’s Day with sing-a-grams
The choir program took a fun twist on a Valentine’s Day fundraiser classic.
When the OHS Choir program was looking for fundraising ideas this year, they decided to do the classic Valentine’s Day gram, where a person sends an accompanying message to a crush, friend, or girlfriend or boyfriend. However, the choir kids wanted to add a musical touch.
“We called them singagrams. It had a little ring to it, but we want to do something a little different,” said choir student Ronni Jones (11).
The grams were priced at two dollars each and sold to the student body to give to their special someone last week. Students were given a choice between three songs: “My Girl,” “You’ve Got A Friend In Me,” and “L-O-V-E.” On Monday and Tuesday, the choir students came during ANPs, singing their grams. Jones said that it was really fun to see all the reactions of the students.
“Some students were really awkward, but most had fun and enjoyed it.”
