New teacher creates poetry event
Poetry slam poster hangs on the wall on Jan. 26.
OHS will be holding its first poetry slam this Wednesday (Jan. 31) in the school library, starting at 6 p.m..
The idea for the poetry slam was introduced by English teacher Mrs. Amy Crean. She said she wanted to host the poetry slam as a throwback from when she was in school.
Students can participate in the poetry slam by filling out the google form or contact Mrs. Crean at [email protected].
Mrs. Crean said, “I would invite them to visit the show and see if it’s for them!”
As of Monday (Jan. 29), there are currently 14 students participating. Students will create their own original poetry piece, or share a famous poem.
