OHS was definitely glowing on Saturday, December 14th. It was the first ever glow dance, and it was a complete success. Over 300 students were in attendance.

It was a very casual dress code which was a big plus. You didn’t have to deal with any drama about your hair, outfit, flowers, etc. You just wore your Oakville Glow Dance shirt with a pair of shorts and tennis shoes.

The gym looked absolutely amazing! All the lights were turned off except for the black lights in front of the stage, which was also where the bubble machines were located. The bubbles were going continuously throughout the dance. They were exquisite. When they popped they left a glow in the dark liquid on you, so you glowed even more! I think that’s what really topped it off. With the glowing bubbles floating around the gym and everyone glowing while dancing, gym A looked completely transformed!

Many people were skeptical of going to the dance. They didn’t know if it was going to be “cool” or not. It definitely was, and if you didn’t get the chance to attend this glow dance you definitely need to attend the next one. You won’t regret it!

I think this dance is the best dance I’ve ever been to at Oakville. It was so much fun. I wish we would of thought of having one sooner! Being able to just show up and have a carefree dance party with my friends while glowing in the dark was something I’ll never forget! I wouldn’t be opposed to having another one in the spring, and I’m sure other students would agree!
