Jake Landman qualifies for state meet

Jake Landman (11) qualified for the state meet in the 200 freestyle with a time of one minute, 51.71 seconds on Sept. 11. At the meet against Westminster, Landman came into the meet with a personal best of 1:53 but hoping to get under 1:52.59 to qualify.

“Before the meet, I wanted to qualify, and when I saw my time, I was excited,” Landman said.

According to Coach Dan Schoenfeldt, he didn’t put Landman in the race until he knew he was ready both mentally and physically. Schoenfeldt is also hoping that Landman will qualify for the 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle, and the 500 freestyle by October 13.

Schoenfeldt are proud of Landman’s qualification to state.

“It’s nice to see the harder working athletes get the credit they deserve,” Schoenfeldt said.

Along with Landman qualifying for state, the team beat Westminster to secure a record of 3-1.
