Golden Girls win competition at Lindbergh
The Oakville Golden Girls placed first overall at the Yvonne Cole Invitational Competition at Lindbergh High School.
The competition took place on Saturday, Dec. 5. The team performed their Pom routine and after the judges deliberated, the results were ready. The team was ecstatic about their win.
For some of the seniors, however, the moment was bittersweet, as it featured one of their last performances for OHS. Seniors Kristine Pickens, Kristen Goetter, Cara Niehoff, Morgan Blumenthal, and Abby Metz performed in one of their last competitions for their season on Golden Girls and gave it their all.
“It felt amazing to win because we knew how much hard work went into our routine and the support of our friends and family at the competition really helped,” senior Morgan Blumenthal said.
