Four OHS football players compete in All-Star Classic
OHS football seniors showed their skills in the annual St.Louis High School All-star Classic game.
This year the game was held on Saturday, Dec. 5. The battle between the two teams of all stars was held on the field of Gateway High School at 2 pm. OHS was represented well with four of its senior football players participating in the game. Antwan Banks (12), Thomas Gholston (12), Matt Helldoerfer (12), and Norvell Streeter (12) stuck together for one last game together playing for the blue team.
“It’s kind of like a last hoorah for those guys, to go out and get a chance to play football for the one last time for some of them. Some of them to get an opportunity to get looked at by colleges also”, varsity football coach Arlee Conners said.
Players from around the St.Louis Metro Area joined together for a game they will always remember.
“It was a lot different than high school football… It was nice having my family there to play with me one last time,” Helldoerfer said.
Although they were content with the way they played, the blue team came out with a loss, the final score being 34-0.
