Many senior athletes will be leaving their OHS teams this year, but for thirteen of them, their sports careers are far from over.
On Wednesday, April 13, thirteen seniors who are playing a sport in college made their final choices and signed their letters of intent. The letters of intent state what college they plan to attend and what sport they are going to play.
OHS hosted the Letter of Intent Signing Day in the library so that these students could commemorate their decisions. Parents, high school coaches, and college coaches were welcome to attend.
The following students have committed for the next year:
- Austin Neal – Drury University (Wrestling)
- Donovan Tritschler – Crowley’s Ridge College (Basketball)
- Jarad Wahl – Mckendree University (Water Polo)
- Griffin Bailey – Southeast Missouri State (Cross Country & Track)
- Kobe Allen – Southwest Baptist University (Football)
- Matt Helldoerfer – William Jewell College (Football)
- Breanna Colombo – St. Charles Community College (Soccer)
- Kelli Jungewaelter – St. Charles Community College (Soccer)
- Allison Frisella – Westminster College (Soccer)
- Tyler Chambliss – Quincy University (Baseball)
- Raul Elguezabal – Jefferson College (Baseball)
- Matt Miller – Missouri University of Science and Technology (Baseball)

One athlete, Griffin Bailey, will be competing in Division I next season.
