Emily Davidson, athlete of the week

Emily Davidson (12) readies to bat at a home varsity softball game on Sept. 6.

In the world of high school girls softball, several names shine in the Oakville starting line up. One rising star who is having a great season is none other than Emily Davidson. Davidson is a senior starting at 3rd base and lead off hitter for the Varsity team; she helped the team to many victories.

In the past games against Pattonville, Kirkwood, and Eureka, victory was in the air. Davidson has been a prime component of their victories.
Varsity softball head coach, Richard Sturm, said, “Emily has been a big part of our team’s success so far this season.”

Davidson has phenomenal stats. Her batting percentage average is .489 and her batting on percentage average is .582. In 14 games, she has 22 hits, 20 runs scored, 14 doubles, 2 triples, 9 RBI’s, and 11 stolen bases.

Davidson still has a few games left and there is still time to improve their team record. The team’s current record is 12-2, and there is belief that they will continue their winning streaks. You can see Emily Davidson play on Thursday Sept. 23, her senior night, against Mehlville.
