Farewell finish, Durham and Ezell wrap up cross country season
The cross country season ended Oct. 29 after Halle Ezell (9) and Nick Durham (12) put their best foot forward at Sectionals in Washington, Missouri.
Ezell ran 21:57 and finished 41st out of 77, while Durham ran 18:21 and finished 53rd out of 74.
With such a successful first season, Ezell proved herself to be a promising runner for the future of the cross country program.
“It felt pretty good because I was only a freshman, it was cool,” Ezell said.
With the season at a close, Durham reflects on his four years as a varsity runner. Throughout his career, he has ran around 50 races and earned about 30 medals. Durham began running competitively at age 15. He has also received second team all conference twice and was a key leader to the team this season.
“Unfortunately this is the end… I would like to thank everyone who has inspired me and pushed me throughout my cross country career. I’m gonna miss it.” Durham said.
Durham hopes to continue cross country and go to college to become a physical therapist.
