For the second year in a row, boys tennis is district champions.

On May 7 the boys played the first round of districts, and started off strong with a 5-1 win over Jackson. They came back the next day (May 8) to secure a 5-2 win over Farmington to give them the district title.

Nathan Long (12) says the win was incredible, and since  it was the second year in a row the boys won districts, it makes the win that much better. “I’ve only played tennis for two years so to win districts both years is cool,” Long said. “It’s a great way to end on a high note.”

The boys  played in the individual districts later that week where  Brandon Eckstein (12) placed third, Carter Nichols (12) placed fourth, and then a doubles team of Brendan Boone (11) and Long placed fourth.

The boys will advance to team sectionals, where they will play St. Louis University High, May 18, at Bernard Middle School, starting at 9 a.m.
