A life changing and heart wrenching movie
There are many new movies out in theaters to go see, but the one that is a MUST see is definitely “Lone Survivor”.
Most people don’t know that “Lone Survivor” was originally a book written by Marcus Luttrell, a seal on the mission that the movie is about. I have yet to read the book, but it is now on my list after seeing the movie.
“Lone Survivor” is a film about a Navy SEAL team that goes on a mission, Operation Red Wings, to capture a Taliban Leader, Ahmad Shah. Four men are dropped into the desert to make their way to the village where Shah is living. Once they find the village they hide themselves in the mountains to wait for the rest of their team to arrive. While waiting some unexpected guests come along, and the SEALs soon find out that they are in work with the Taliban. They cannot kill the men because it’s a violation of the Rules of Engagement. They have to let them go and watch them race down the mountain to tell the Taliban that they’re up there hiding.
The men try to contact their team to let them know that they need to get out of there, but the connection fails. Soon Shah and his army find the seals, and the battle begins.
“Lone Survivor” is a life changing movie. It gives you an idea of what these men go through. In the beginning of the movie they even show you real footage of Navy SEAL training, which helps you understand how difficult it is to become a seal.
This film tugs on your heart strings as you watch these men fight for our country. The men that are played in this movie had unbelievable strength, courage, bravery, and so much more. If you call yourself an American, then you have to go see this movie.
Thank you to all the men and women who have served or are currently serving. I am forever grateful for your services. God bless you and your families.
