The Old Spaghetti Factory falls short of expectations
The Old Spaghetti Factory in Chesterfield was definitely not what I was expecting.
Prior to this experience, I had never eaten at The Old Spaghetti Factory, but I have always heard great things about it. So naturally, I was excited to go and try something new. I was definitely not thrilled with the outcome.
The environment of The Old Spaghetti Factory was very homey our waiter was exceptionally pleasant.
The menu had a wide variety of food to pick from and their food was priced very reasonably. At this restaurant, the entrees come with a salad for starters, along with a scoop of ice cream for dessert.
With all of that being said, my friends and I were all expecting our entrees to be magnificent. They definitely did not live up to our expectations.
Lexi Luzynski (12) ordered a caesar salad with grilled chicken. When it came out, it looked like a garden salad with a white dressing. The dressing was hardly caesar and the chicken had a rubbery texture.
“I was disappointed,” says Luzynski, “it’s just a caesar salad, I would assume they are not that hard to make.”
Aside from that, Taylor Paluczak (12) ordered the “Breast of Chicken Fettucine” and compared her mushrooms on it to the YMCA pool water.
I ordered spinach and cheese ravioli topped in their “light marinara sauce.” The ravioli were not bad, but the marinara sauce was not very good at all. It had a sour and bitter after taste that was very hard to overcome.
All in all, my friends and I were somewhat disappointed with the food. Everything else including the service, environment, and prices were great; the food just fell somewhat short.
Now, I’ve never been to the Old Spaghetti Factory in the city, so maybe the food there is better quality, but I would not particularly recommend this restaurant to anyone.
