More Room for the Courtroom
Last Thursday and Friday on Mar. 6 and 7 OHS performed their spring play, Fairy Tale Courtroom, in the new Nottleman Auditorium. In the past, all plays were performed in the Drama Center in the lower level of the high school. The Drama Center was very compact and made attending a play very personal, but very cramped. The auditorium was an new and exciting experience for the cast members.
“The auditorium was fantastic, the play went very well. It was a different sort of experience,” Alex Pepper (12) said. “There was an entirly different set construction and rehearsal structure for this play.”
The drama room has been a home for Pepper for his whole high school career so performing on the a bigger stage in front of a bigger crowd was eye opening.
For another actor, Stephen Powers (12), performing on a bigger stage was an empowering experience.
“I first went inside the auditorium a few days before the play, and I was pumped to act on it,” Powers said. “It was a huge adjustment but we all showed up to perform and busted out a great show, and hopefully our audience felt the same.”
The auditorium was an enlightening experience for these seniors and a great place to perform their final play with Oakville.
