Rake ‘n Run

Holding open a lawn bag, Dalia Dzekic (11) helps her friend Katelyn Henry (11) collect leaves during OHS’s annual Rake ‘n Run.

On a chilly Saturday morning (Nov. 5), over 50 OHS students came together to help out their community.

They were participating in Rake ‘n Run, an annual event sponsored by Student Council where students rake leaves in surrounding neighborhoods.

“The community really does benefit from this event,” said Rebecca Dutcher, Student Council co-sponsor. “There are some elder members that always get their yard done every year.”

StuCo, boys’ basketball, Key Club, and NHS are among the groups that participated.

“I participate in the Rake ‘n Run because it’s a good way to help out the community,” said Sam Gandhi, a member of Student Council and a class officer.
