Boys Basketball All Conference
As the boy’s basketball season came to an end, two players received post-season honors.
Tommy Purschke (12) and Joe Beardsley (11) made the All-District team, which qualifies them to be considered for Missouri All-State Basketball. Both boys were named All-Conference Green Division.
Purschke had a very successful season, averaging 11.1 points a game. Purschke was a four-year varsity basketball player and had one memorial game when he had a successful game scoring 26 points against Rockwood Summit on Feb. 1. This was his personal highest scoring game in his four-year varsity basketball career.
“It is deserved. Tommy was our most prolific scorer on the season,” said head coach Nick Traxler. “Every team that scouted us planned their strategy around stopping him.”
Beardsley averaged 10.1 points a game and was a key player on the team. Beardsley frequently got defensive rebounds when the team needed them most.
“It felt really good to be named in both all-districts and all-conference,” Beardsley said. “All my hard work paid off.”
