Four years after retired CIA agent Bryan Mills rescued his daughter from Paris, he and his family face international trouble once again in Taken 2. Liam Neeson reprises his role as Bryan Mills along with Maggie Grace as Mills’ daughter Kim and Famke Janssen as his ex-wife Lenore.

Taken 2 follows Mills and his family as they take a trip to Istanbul. Soon after they settle in Istanbul, the past starts to haunt them again. Some family of the kidnappers that Mills killed while trying to save his daughter have followed Mills and his family to get revenge. Bryan and Lenore get taken hostage by the father of one of the kidnappers. The integration of family ties worked well for the sequel.

Many say that the film was unnecessary, and that may be true, but it was done very well. Neeson is a veteran action star and you can definitely see it in this film. Taken 2 is a very good action movie complete with scenes that keep you on the edge of your seat throughout the movie.

Box office numbers were very good for opening weekend, with the film taking the top spot with $49.5 million. This weekend, the thriller Argo, directed by Ben Affleck, was all the entertainment industry buzzed about over the weekend. Despite this, Taken 2 took the top spot for the second weekend in a row.
