On April 14, the annual MTV Movie Awards took place in Los Angeles, California. Australian actress/comedian Rebel Wilson was the host for this years’ award show.

James Franco made a guest appearance in the opening skit with Rebel Wilson which ended with her flying into the awards show in an iron man suit. The cast of “Pitch Perfect,” which Wilson starred in, did a mashup of songs by Miley Cyrus, Macklemore, Eminem, and Alicia Keys.

The first award of the night was for Best Male Performance in which Bradley Cooper won for “Silver Linings Playbook.” Later on in the show, Jennifer Lawrence took the award for Best Female Performance for her role in “Silver Linings Playbook” as well.

Harry Potter star Emma Watson received the Trailblazer award that night and before she went up to accept the award a clip was reeled about her roles from the beginning of her Harry Potter days up to her recent role in “The Perks of Being a Wallflower” alongside Logan Lerman, who presented her this award.

The Generation Award was presented to Jamie Foxx, which represented his numerous roles in a variety of movies over the years. The Comedic Genius award was presented to Will Ferrell for his various comedic roles over the years. His acceptance speech was something that won’t be forgotten for a long time. He went up in a money suit and gave a not-so-inspiring speech about his accomplishments.

A nice highlight of the night was the presentation of their newest award, Best Shirtless Performance. “Twilight” star Taylor Lautner who accepted it with a funny speech about how this award was like an Academy Award to all the shirtless performers out there. Best Musical Performance was given to the cast of “Pitch Perfect,” and Best Kiss was awarded to Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper once again for “Silver Linings Playbook.”

Breakthrough Performance was given to the host Rebel Wilson who accepted it with a kiss from Zac Efron. Best Hero was given to Martin Freeman for his performance in “The Hobbit” and Best WTF moment was award to Jamie Foxx and Samuel L. Jackson for a scene from “Django Unchained.”

The movie that took home the most awards was “The Avengers” and they received the top award, Movie of the Year, along with Best Fight Scene and Best Villain.
