Try something new at Breakaway Cafe
Do you get tired of eating at the same restaurants week after week, enjoy amazing service, and like a menu with multiple mouthwatering choices? Well if so then I’d recommend a little cafe in North County, Breakaway Cafe.
This cafe is located in on 8418 Natural Bridge Rd and is about 40 minutes away from south county but only 0.6 miles away from UMSL. Although this area is not the best and not very close, this food is definitely worth it!
What was great about this menu was that there were so many options and it was all very reasonably priced. They have numerous options including soups, salads, pastas, sandwiches, pizza, and even stir fry!
I went to this restaurant with a friend recently and we shared the 7 layer dip for starters. It was amazing. This dip had chili, onions, sour cream, guacamole, cheese and jalapenos. Not only was this dip outstanding, but the homemade chips that came with it were even better!
For my meal I had a turkey burger with a side salad. Although my turkey burger was amazing, I could not get over how phenomenal my simple little house salad was. I tend get nervous ordering house salads because they can be bland and boring, but this was seriously the best salad I have ever eaten.
My friend got the meatball parmesan sandwich and he described it as, “hands down best meatball sandwich I have ever come across!,” [Clay Stocker.]
Aside from the great food, the service and environment was outstanding as well. We were greeted as soon as we walked in, and our waiter was very friendly.
Breakaway Cafe does have odd hours, so if someone were interested in going, I would recommend jotting down them down. They are open Monday 11:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m., Tuesday thru Thursday 11:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m, Friday 11:00 a.m.-10:00 p.m., Saturday 4:30 p.m.-10:00 p.m., and they are closed on Sundays.
For anyone who is going to UMSL in the future, or just wants to try something new, this is the place for you!
After 30 years of business, I can definitely see more successful years to come for Breakaway Cafe.
