The OHS Women’s Chorale and Wind Symphony will be heading to Tan-Tar-A Thursday, Jan. 24, to perform at the 75th Missouri Music Educators Association Conference.
Both groups have been preparing for months, with rehearsals over winter break and four day weekends. In addition to countless practices, both groups have had concerts as a practice run of their MMEA program.
The Women’s Choral had a concert Friday, Jan. 18 at St. Pauls Church. The Wind Symphony performed with another MMEA band, Rockwood South Middle School’s 8th grade band, Tuesday, Jan. 22.
Both groups will leave early Thursday morning. The Women’s Chorale will perform at 11:45 a.m. and the Wind Symphony will perform at 12:30 p.m.
In addition to their MMEA performance, three choir students (Jon Duchesne, Kevin Kuchno, Abby Williams) will be performing with the All State Choir Saturday, Jan. 26.
Being asked to perform at the MMEA conference is a big honor and neither group wants to disappoint.
