Homecoming is just around the corner and with the student body worrying about finding that perfect outfit to match that special someone, Student Council is working hard to make it a night to remember.

Student Council has always been involved in decorating for homecoming, but this year they are taking on a bit more responsibility.

“It’s been stressful but it’s nothing we can’t handle,” Rebecca Dutcher, Student Council co-sponsor and chemistry teacher, says.

Because of the recent budget cuts, the two teachers previously in charge of homecoming have decided to step down. This leaves Student Council in charge of recruiting chaperones and finding a DJ.

Since Student Council sponsored the glow dance last year, they were able to easily locate a DJ and call some previous parent chaperones. They also have experience decorating for homecoming and have done so for four years now.

“I think a lot of people are excited,” Dutcher says, “The amount of students going compared to the student population is impressive. It will be fun.”
