Golden Girls host Breakfast with Santa
On Saturday, Nov 28 the OHS Golden Girls hosted their second annual Breakfast with Santa.
The Golden Girls sent out flyers to the elementary schools and the kids could sign up or pay at the door. There were crafts, such as tables where kids could construct reindeer ornaments, Christmas tree ornaments, and jingle bell necklaces, as well as a table for face painting. The kids could also get their pictures taken with Santa. The breakfast was an all-you-can-eat pancakes meal for $10.
“I took my granddaughter, she’s 2 and she had the time of her life,” Ms. Gail Wilke, health room assistant at Mehlville School District, said.
This year they had about 30 more people walk in and 20 more people sign up for the event than the previous year. Most of the money raised will go towards the Golden Girls’ fund for nationals, which will take place in February.
“It went well we had a lot more people than we had the previous year so that’s even more money to help us get to nationals,” Morgan Blumenthal (12) said.
