This year’s Homecoming parade brought out the best of OHS spirit. Standing in the rain, the crowd lined up, waiting for the excitement to begin.
“This was my first year being a part of the parade and it was a lot of fun. Even with the rain, everyone had smiles on their faces,” said Ashlynn Smith(12).
Great themes always leave opportunities for people to be creative and construct a great float. Creating a stand out and unique float helps bring home the gold. Winning best all around float was awarded to the Golden Girls, most original was soccer’s float, most spirited was girl’s tennis, best theme was the Varsity cheer leading float and the most creative float this year was field hockey.
“I was really excited when I heard we won. We put so much work into it, it was great to get rewarded for our hard work,” said field hockey player Amanda Brawley(10).
This year, the floats were fun and the crowd’s positive reaction made the weather that much more bearable.
