Several OHS students will be traveling to Washington D.C. for a World Quest tournament.
World Quest has been at OHS for a few years now, but this year the team beat around 30 schools in a local competition at Saint Louis University on Nov. 10. That qualified them for the national competition in Washington D.C. While in D.C. The World Quest students will have the chance of visiting some museums and historic sites.
“There is a small chance that we might possibly be visiting the White House,” World Quest club sponsor Mr. Roger Wilke said.
The team will be staying there for two nights in April. They will be competing against other schools from around the nation. Wilke believes they will do well in the competition.
“Obviously only the best of the best will be there,” Mr. Wilke said. “So saying that we will win would be saying a lot because there are only winners left.”
World Quest is a trivia competition about international affairs made up of seven categories with ten questions in each category. The questions are asked and the team answers them on a piece of paper and then at the end of the category the questions are turned in.
