OHS band goes to the capital

Over 100 OHS band students are making their way to Washington DC to attend and perform at the Heritage Music Festival. Many high schools across the country attend this every year.

OHS has the largest group that attends and performs are at music festival on Saturday. The two bands, Orchestra and Symphonic, will be performing a mix of songs.

“I’m excited because this is going to be fun and it’s my last year of high school. This is my last band trip and I think we’ll perform really well,” trombone player, Michael Meier (12), said.

This trip is not only about the Heritage Music Festival. The band gets to have a little for their hard work. They plan to do a little sightseeing as well. They have a White House Tour planned, as well as a Night Tour of Monuments. If they have a little free time, they will also get to go to the National Mall.
They left March 28 and plan to return on Sunday, April 1 around 2 p.m.
