On Friday, April 20, Oakville High school crowned Steve Ream(Mr. Leadership) as the new Mr. OHS and Alex Bergman(Mr. Tennis) as Mr. Popularity. Austin Bennett was runner up for Mr. OHS and Jake Bast was second runner up.
“The whole time I was so nervous and worried about getting my act right, but now looking back it was so much fun and one of my greatest experiences at OHS,” Ream said.
Each of the 16 contestants worked their hardest to impress the judges with their interesting talents and charming personalities. Although not every guy could win, everyone admits they had a great time being involved in the event.
“I thought it was a good experience and even though I didn’t advance, it was still fun to be on stage and see my best friend, Dan Altmann, in the stands cheering me on,” Ryan Huegerich said.
Not only is Mr. OHS a fun-filled event, but it also benefits Kaitlyn’s Krusadors; a charity for kids who are suffering from juvenile diatbetes. This year, Mr. OHS raised over $300 for this charity.
Mr. OHS t-shirts are still being sold in Room 234 for $10.00. Come buy your t-shirt now!
