On Thursday, May 2, a group of juniors went to Bierbaum Elementary School for their Service Learning Project.
Once there, the students were split up into pairs and groups to go to different classrooms to assist teachers and help students. It was a learning experience, and many students looked at the service in a positive light.
“I just helped the teacher in any way that I could,” said Lexi Pommer (11), “and I think Service Learning helped spread the community love.”
Sophomores also had the chance to do service the next day, and seniors had two days to complete their service. Because it was such a success, OHS is considering continuing Service Learning next year.
