On Saturday, September 28th, Oakville’s 2013-2014 homecoming king and queen were crowned.

Dan Carter and Mikayla Ham came out on top. While the other nominees for the 2013 homecoming court were Kirby Phillips and Jessica Roderick, Kyle Hearn and Angelica Castelo, Matt Garavaglia and Abby Groves, and Cameron Dulle and Mariah McNabb.

Something that most people do not know about Ham winning queen is that this title actually runs in her family. Ham’s mother, step-mother, and grandmother also all won homecoming queen in their day, which made this much more meaningful to Ham.

Dan Carter looked back on the experience saying, “winning homecoming king was a true honor and it is something I’ll remember for the rest of my life.”
