OHS opens doors to community with “Trick or Treat Tuesday”

“Trick or treat smell my feet, give me something good to eat!” Halloween is just around the corner and OHS is celebrating it by getting involved with the community.

Hosted by NHS with the help of Golden Girls, FCCLA, German Club, French Club, DECA, and more, for the first time ever OHS is hosting an event called Trick or Treat Tuesday on Oct. 29 which is taking place from 5:30 to 7:30 in the commons at OHS.

Trick or Treat Tuesday will give parents throughout the Oakville community the chance to take their children up to Oakville to play games, tell jokes, dress up, and munch on the delicious candy that the clubs will be giving out.

“We want to try to get out in the community and make a positive impression”, said Mrs. Diane Menzel, the sponsor of NHS.

Many feel after the unfortunate events that occurred and the community upset about the vandalism that took place in September with Powder Puff, many feel that this will certainly help.

Each club will have a table set up and a fun activity with it. Many of the clubs are keeping their games and activities a secret and making a competition of it to see which clubs were the most successful.

With this unique challenge Trick or Treat Tuesday should be a success.

The clubs that are hosting are hopeful that Trick or Treat Tuesday will “Open the doors of “Our House” to the community”, said Menzel, and expect a great turnout with many smiles and laughs from the kids of the community celebrating Halloween.
