Leadership Flash Mob

Oakville is in the middle of their annual canned food drive. Wednesday, November 6th, the leadership class performed a flash mob during each lunch to promote that the canned food drive is going on.

They decided they needed to grab the students attention in an exciting and energetic way, which resulted in the idea of a flash mob. They started out with The Harlem Shake, and then went into The Wobble, and back into The Harlem Shake. After their dance was finished they proceeded to chant “Lets can hunger!” around the commons.

With all of these other service projects going on the canned food drive hasn’t been as advertised as much. There’s also more to the canned food drive this year, students can donate more than just cans. They can also donate things like toothbrushes, toothpaste, mouthwash, ramen noodles, etc.

The leadership class only had one practice to teach everyone the moves, but they were able to pull it all together. Lexi Luzynski(12) said, “We had a lot of fun doing it, and hopefully it helped get the word out!”.

The final collection for the canned food drive is next Thursday, November 14th.
